Compressed air energy audit — data logger installation

Compressed Air Energy Audits
Know Exactly What It Costs

Most plants have no clear picture of what their compressed air system actually consumes or where energy is being wasted. Our compressed air energy audit gives you that picture — with data, not estimates, and a rupee figure attached to every finding.

Sri Lanka's only ISO 11011:2013 aligned compressed air energy audit service. Tranco Tech installs calibrated flow meters, pressure transducers, and power meters across your operating lines, recording system data at 1-second intervals over a full 7-day cycle — capturing true peak demand and production load transitions without disrupting plant operations.

The Problem

Your compressors are running.
But are they efficient?

Compressed air is one of the most expensive utilities in any industrial plant — and one of the least understood. Most plant managers know what they pay for electricity. Very few know what proportion of that electricity produces useful compressed air, what proportion is wasted through inefficiency and leakage, and whether their compressors are the right size for what their process actually demands.

Without measured data, these questions cannot be answered. Estimates are unreliable. Manufacturer specifications describe ideal conditions, not your plant. The only way to know what your system actually does is to measure it.

A Tranco Tech compressed air energy audit installs data loggers directly on your system, captures 7 days of continuous real-world data, and produces a detailed engineering report that answers these questions — with your own data, costed in rupees.

Three findings that change the conversation

Supply vs demand
How much air your compressors generate versus how much your plant actually needs — day by day, shift by shift, m³/min by m³/min.
Specific efficiency
The true cost per unit of useful compressed air your system produces, expressed in kW/m³/min and Rs./m³ — benchmarked against what it should be.
Non-productive expenditure
The portion of your annual energy bill spent on air that does no useful work — through idling, over-compression, and leakage — in rupees, per year.
The Process

Four steps from loggers
to engineering report

The audit is non-intrusive and requires no production interruption at any stage. Our engineers handle everything from installation to debrief.

Logger installation
Power & pressure loggers installed at your plant room — no production shutdown required
7-day data capture
1-second continuous logging across all shifts, production days, weekends, and non-production periods
Analysis & simulation
KPIs, leakage baseline, cost projections, and savings simulation produced from logged data
Report & debrief
Engineering report with tiered recommendations and ROI, presented to your team in a debrief session
The Report

A complete picture of
your compressed air system

The audit report is a detailed engineering document covering every aspect of your compressed air system’s performance during the logging period. It is produced with methodology aligned with ISO 11011:2013 and presents findings clearly so they can be understood by plant engineers and communicated to management.

Supply side analysis
Equipment utilisation — loaded hours, offload hours, and stopped hours per compressor
Daily compressed air supply — minimum, maximum, and average power and output per compressor
Air compressor output analysis — load band distribution across the audit period
System power analysis — total power, productive (load) power, and non-productive (idle) power with rupee cost
Annual cost flow — total, non-productive, and productive energy cost projected annually
Supply side graphs — system flow overview, pressure overview, load pattern, supply efficiency, total power, productive and non-productive power
Demand side analysis
Daily compressed air demand — system demand overview per day
Demand consumption analysis — time spent at each consumption band
Annual demand consumption analysis — projected annual demand and cost
Daily average — demand, total power (productive and non-productive) and specific efficiency
System KPIs
Network pressure data — peak, high, and average pressure, pressurisation and depressurisation time
System performance KPI — specific efficiency (kW/m³/min), cost efficiency (Rs./m³), productive hours and cost, non-productive hours and cost, annual total cost
Daily performance KPI — the above metrics broken down per day for the full audit period
Leakage baseline
Compressed air leakage baseline — quantified from pressure decay analysis during non-production hours, with flow rate and annual cost of leakage

A low-risk investment in
understanding your system

The compressed air energy audit is a paid engineering service. The fee reflects the time invested in logger installation, data analysis, simulation, and report production — as well as the expertise brought to the debrief.

Audit fee waiver
Depending on the next steps you take following the audit findings, we offer a 25% or 50% waiver of the audit fee against your project. If the audit leads to a plant improvement, equipment investment, or service engagement, a portion of what you paid for the audit is credited back. The audit pays for itself.
