Oil-free compressed air of Class 0 and crystal-clear condensate — what the BOGE bluekat series promises and delivers is not only absolutely safe and TÜV SÜD certified. It is also particularly economical, since the costly condensate disposal is eliminated entirely. This makes the bluekat principle ideal for sensitive industrial applications where oil-free compressed air is to be produced both safely and cost-effectively.

An integrated converter is the secret of the BOGE bluekat models covering the 30–45 kW power range. Its task is the reliable oxidation of hydrocarbons (that is: oil) to water and CO₂. No residues are produced that would need cleaning or maintenance — this is the biggest cost advantage. An overload protection prevents accidentally overdriving the converter, meaning: an oil breakthrough as with incorrectly sized filters is excluded.
Modern BOGE IE3 motors ensure that all BOGE bluekat models are driven with maximum efficiency. This applies even more to the frequency-controlled model SLF 40-3 bluekat, where the speed of the drive motor and compressor stage is flexibly adapted to demand.
What TÜV SÜD has tested and confirmed lets users from the pharmaceutical, chemical, semiconductor, or food industries sleep peacefully: the compressed air produced by all models of the BOGE bluekat series is absolutely oil-free according to ISO 8573-1 Class 0! And at every point in the overall process, only oil-free condensate occurs.

How the BOGE bluekat Works

The bluekat principle:
water-clear condensate

Cost-effectiveness does not entail compromising safety here. The bluekat principle ensures that the produced compressed air is oil-free in accordance with the highest Class 0 standard — and the process is consistent every time.

Compression
Air is drawn in and compressed in the S-3 compressor stage in the usual way — using the proven oil-lubricated screw principle.

Preheating
The compressed air is preheated to 200°C before entering the integrated BOGE Converter.

Catalytic Oxidation
The converter's catalytic material oxidises all hydrocarbons (oil) to water and CO₂. No oil residues — no filter maintenance required.

Class 0 Output
Absolutely oil-free compressed air per ISO 8573-1 Class 0 is delivered — with crystal-clear condensate at every stage of the process.

No Oil Breakthrough Risk
Unlike filter-based oil-free systems, the bluekat's catalytic converter cannot be overdriven. Overload protection is built in, making an oil breakthrough — as can occur with incorrectly sized filters — completely excluded.

IE3 high-efficiency motors are standard across the bluekat range. The frequency-controlled SLF 40-3 bluekat variant adapts motor and compressor stage speed flexibly to actual demand, maximising energy efficiency.
Heat Recovery Integrable
Heat recovery can be integrated into the bluekat installation, allowing recovered compression energy to be used for process or space heating — further improving overall system energy efficiency.
